New photovoltaic system installed in Alcar Uno headquarters
In the summer of 2019 a photovoltaic system with a power of 400kWp was installed for the production of electricity, simultaneously reclaiming the headquarter's old asbestos roof cover.
The intervention saw the installation of about 1400 photovoltaic modules on more than 2000 square meters area.
The plant will guarantee a production of approximately 400,000.00 kWh of electricity from renewable sources which will be substantially self-consumed, with a consequent reduction in polluting emissions into the atmosphere: more than 200 tons of carbon dioxide will be "saved".
In particular, each year, atmospheric emissions will be reduced by the following quantities:
The intervention is part of a requalification corporate plan involving all group's production plants that will lead to the total removal of materials containing asbestos-cement at the end of 2019, making the group Eternit Free.
The plan also provides for the simultaneous installation of photovoltaic modules, reaching a total installed peak power of over 2 MegaWatts. In the short term, the group will achieve two important goals: being Eternit Free and producing energy from renewable sources.
In addition, a charging station for electric cars free of charge for employees will be installed at the headquarters in Via della Pace, in order to promote sustainable mobility and further limit emissions into the atmosphere.
